What I Do.

Character Voices

I’ll bring your characters to life & make them feel lived-in.
No two characters are going to speak in the exact same manner as we are unique creatures!
My natural accent is South Australian (also “moves a lot”), but have experience in general American, general English, and recently dabbling in general Irish. My age ranges are young adult to old as hell, and I’ll play anything from human, to alien, to monster, to hybrids!

Improvisation

What will I do next? I honestly don’t know until the words are coming out of my mouth! Actual Play has trained me well, and apparently I can throw curveballs as well as I can catch them 😀 I will always act true to the character’s nature, and operate with the desire to serve the story.

Narration

Would you like my dulcet tones soothing the audience of your meditation track?
Would you like a clear and friendly voice narrating your e-learning module?
Would you like a compelling voiceover for your project’s trailer?
I can do that!

Dialogue Editing

I was given the opportunity to help dialogue edit for ‘I Should Roll’ back in November 2025 when our showrunner had a lot on her plate, and after having done two episodes in a row I developed a real joy of it, and she was happy for me to continue! So, I’ve edited the first draft of every episode (barring one) since! I’ve also dialogue edited for an episode of ‘Imagined Economies’, and edited everything in my solo show ‘Vignettes’.

Please reach out if you’d like me to join your project in a vocal or dialogue editing capacity.
I’d love to hear what you’ve got in mind!

What others have to say about lea

A few reviews from some wonderful colleagues & collaborators.

Theodore James

Lea Lawson is a fantastic voice actor. I originally chose Lea for my project based on the emotionality she was able to express through her voice, and it was the best decision I could have made. Her delivery of the lines for all the characters assigned to her was exactly what I hoped it would be in my mind’s eye. It was a surreal experience to hear my words spoken and brought to life by her. She was always prompt to respond and happily worked with me for revisions and retakes. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a talented voice actor, and I will be calling on her for more voice work in the future.

Benjamin Du Laurent

Lea brings a strong combination of professionalism and positive energy to her work. She delivered an excellent initial submission and then went above and beyond to further refine her performance, elevating the material beyond expectation. Despite the scene’s challenging content, and the demands of the character, she effortlessly executed the role to a high standard on the first take. She’s reliable, capable, and super easy to work with. Highly recommend

Great actress to work with. Professional level effort and results.

Matt Bartlett

Lea is everything you could want in a collaborator for a project. Not only is she genuinely kind, talented, and communicative but she will take a character in directions you may never expect while respecting your original vision. I’ve seen this both as a director and as a co-star. We were lucky to find her for Appalachia, and anyone would be fortunate to have her be a part of their piece.
